Civil War #7 Brings the Action, Change, and Praise!

By Press Release - Marvel with additions by Christopher Hoerdemann

We have come to the end. The epic Marvel Comics event, Civil War, concludes today. Even with the final issue coming months after its' intended shipping date, the excitement is still at an all time high for comic book fans, new, and old. The event has garnered much praise.........

“If you have ever loved any Marvel characters at any point in your life, you need to read Civil War. Civil War left me on the edge of my seat and made me excited to be a Marvel fan.” – Adam White, ComicCritique.com

“If you read Marvel, read this title. If you don't read Marvel but have been tempted to, read this title.” – Bureau42.com

“We could be looking at the best Marvel crossover of all time.” – Michael Deeley, SilverBulletcomicbooks.com

These are just a sampling of the praise Marvel’s monster hit event CIVIL WAR has garnered thru its run. Alas, all great things must come to a close. After death, betrayal, and shocks that garnered national press headlines, Civil War #7 hits stands today. But, just because this is the final issue, don’t expect this series to go quietly into the night. Early reviews are in, and they are just as intense and praise-worthy!

“This final issue of Civil War is a strong finish to the series. It has an excellent sense of pacing and doesn't sacrifice the message and spirit of the event for action or shock value…(The) conflict does reshape the future of the Marvel Universe!”- IGN.com

“If you’re into action, you’ll get that here in spades. (I)t’s easy to see how the actions of this story will provoke change in the Marvel Universe on a day-to-day level.” – Newsarama.com

So, now the stage is set for the future of the Marvel Universe, and that future has a name: THE INITIATIVE! Fans can pick up a FREE copy of a special Initiative Edition of Previews to see what key books will be affected first in the Marvel Universe.

The Initiative is the new look of the Marvel Universe. For the first time since Crisis on Infinite Earths, an "event" comic is truly leaving its mark on the universe where it is occurring. However, unlike Crisis on infinite Earths, this event moved the universe forward, providing a new status quo, instead of simply restarting it. The result is the aforementioned Initiative that will affect nearly every corner of the Marvel Universe.

Marvel Editor Tom Brevoort says, of CIVIL WAR and its aftermath, “I want to thank all of our fans and retailer partners for their support during the last ten months, despite all of the delays—hopefully, everybody will be excited by the outcome, and primed for what comes next in the INITIATIVE roll-out.”

CIVIL WAR’s shockwaves will continue to be felt in the coming weeks in epilogue books like Civil War Front Line #11, Civil War: The Initiative, Captain America #25, Civil War: The Confession, and Civil War: Fallen Son; and of course, in all INITIATIVE titles. Be sure to pick up Civil War #7 and the free INITIATIVE edition of Previews today!
