Casualties of War One Shot
Some people have complained that Civil War has not been a good representation of some of Marvel's characters. They say that Iron Man is being portrayed as a villain. They say that Captain America is being unreasonable. This one shot shows exactly why they are wrong.
Christos Gage portrays both sides of the coin when it comes to super hero registration, and Iron Man fans should be pacified when he explains his side of the story, and it actually makes sense. Iron Man explains that he took the best compromise he could, when he began to support the Super Hero Registration Act. He explains that the alternative was the outlawing of any super hero activity. For a moment, I swayed to Stark's side, but then, Cap gave his reasoning, and I was right back on his side where I had started. That was when I realized that Gage had done an excellent job with this one shot. It was also evident that Gage had done his homework, seeing as he referenced a lot of the history between Captain America and Iron Man.
The art was provided by Jeremy Haun, and he did a terrific job. His art has a bit of a similar style to McNiven's, so I would have been happy if they had made this issue part of the main Civil War mini series which would have minimized the delays between issues four and five. Overall, this was an excellent supplement to the Civil War crossover.
